Film revolves around a story of a Veerappa's (Vishnuvardhan), who is a strong proponent of Gandhian principles based on non-violence. However his preaching falls on deaf ears when his own son grows up to become a terrorist. Later Nayak shows his patriotism by killing his own son's and insist to say Vandematram before he dies. Later he surrender himself to police in the end and he belives that A baby's first utter words should be 'Vandemataram'.
